Article বলতে কি বুঝ? উহা কত প্রকার ও কি কি? Article এর ব্যবহার শেখো সহজ বাংলায়।

 Article (আর্টিকেল) কী?

ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণে Article হলো এমন একটি শব্দ যা Noun (বিশেষ্য)-এর আগে বসে এবং সেই noun-টি নির্দিষ্ট (definite) নাকি অনির্দিষ্ট (indefinite) তা বোঝায়। Article মূলত Adjective-এর মতো কাজ করে, কারণ এটি noun-কে নির্দিষ্ট করে।

🔹 Article-এর প্রকারভেদ (Types of Article)

Article সাধারণত ২ প্রকার:

১. Indefinite Article (অনির্দিষ্ট আর্টিকেল)

👉 a, an

এগুলো এমন noun-এর আগে বসে যেগুলো নির্দিষ্ট নয় বা প্রথমবার বলা হচ্ছে।

🔸 “a” এর ব্যবহার

যেসব noun, consonant sound (ব্যঞ্জনধ্বনি) দিয়ে শুরু হয়, তাদের আগে a বসে।

✅ উদাহরণ:

I have a pen.

He is a boy.

She saw a dog.

👉 এখানে pen, boy, dog নির্দিষ্ট নয়।

🔸 “an” এর ব্যবহার

যেসব noun,  vowel sound (স্বরধ্বনি) দিয়ে শুরু হয়, তাদের আগে an বসে।

✅ উদাহরণ:

He is an honest man.

I ate an apple.

She is an engineer.

👉 লক্ষ্য করো: “honest” h থাকলেও উচ্চারণ vowel sound, তাই “an” বসেছে।

২. Definite Article (নির্দিষ্ট আর্টিকেল)

👉 the

যখন কোনো নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা বিষয় বোঝানো হয়, তখন the ব্যবহৃত হয়।

🔸 “the” এর ব্যবহার

✅ উদাহরণ:

The sun rises in the east.

The book on the table is mine.

The boy is playing.

👉 এখানে sun, book, boy — নির্দিষ্ট।

🔹 Article-এর ব্যবহার (Uses of Article)

এখন বিস্তারিতভাবে দেখি কোথায় Article ব্যবহার করা হয়—

১. সাধারণ (general) অর্থে

👉 কোনো কিছু প্রথমবার উল্লেখ করলে তার পূর্বে a/an বসে।

I saw a bird.

👉 পরে আবার বললে the বসে।

The bird was beautiful.

২. একবচন গণনাযোগ্য noun-এর আগে

👉 অবশ্যই a/an ব্যবহার করতে হয়:

She is a teacher.

He bought a car.

৩. পেশা (profession) বোঝাতে a বসে।

He is a doctor.

She is an artist.

৪. নির্দিষ্ট বস্তু বোঝাতে the বসে।

The pen on the table is blue.

The girl in red dress is my sister.

৫. একটিই আছে এমন বস্তু বুঝালে the বসে।

৬. নদী, সমুদ্র, পর্বতমালা, দ্বীপপুঞ্জের আগে the বসে।

The Padma

The Himalayas

৭. Superlative degree-এর আগে the বসে।

He is the best boy in the class.

This is the tallest building.

৮. Ordinal number-এর আগে the বসে।

বাদ দেওয়ার ক্ষেত্র (Omission of Article)

👉 কিছু ক্ষেত্রে article ব্যবহার হয় না:

🔸 Uncountable noun-এর আগে (general sense)

Water is essential.

Milk is good.

Honesty is the best policy.

🔸 Proper noun-এর আগে

Rahim is a good boy.

Dhaka is a big city.

🔹 গুরুত্বপূর্ণ টিপস

✔ “a/an” ব্যবহার হয় sound দেখে, spelling দেখে নয়

✔ “the” ব্যবহার হয় যখন বিষয়টি নির্দিষ্ট

✔ একই noun দ্বিতীয়বার এলে সাধারণত “the” ব্যবহার হয়
